Maple Milk

It may seem odd to include a simple procedure, but believe it or not, not everyone knows about this delicious drink.

1 glass ice cold milk (preferably 2%)
At least 2 large toss Maple Syrup

Mix together.

 

Maple Pecan Pie


1 9" pastry pie shell
3 eggs
8 oz. maple syrup
½ cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ¼ cups pecan halves or pieces

In bowl, combine the ingredients. Pour into the shell. Bake in lower rack of 350F oven for 35-40 minutes or until golden. Cool.

 

Maple Vinaigrette

½ tsp salt                         ¼ tsp freshly ground pepper
2 tbsp maple syrup           1 tsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
½ cup vegetable oil (olive oil is too strong)

Mix together in a jar by hand or for a creamier dressing, use a Braun hand blender.

 

Maple French Toast

 

1/2 cup maple syrup                   3 eggs

1/3 cup milk                                         1/2  tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp salt                                2 tbsp butter

6 slices  ½ inch French bread (use day old)

Beat together maple syrup, eggs, milk, vanilla and salt.  Place slices in single layer in 9 X 13 " dish.   Pour batter evenly over bread. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight.  Melt butter on griddle.  Add slices and brown on both sides. Serve with maple syrup, maple butter or maple jelly.  This recipe will serve about 6 people.

 

Easy Maple Squares

3 beaten eggs                            1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 cup cooking oil                               3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 cup dark maple syrup               1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups flour                     1 tsp. baking powder

Mix in order given. Pour into 13 x 9 pan, bake at 350' for 30 minutes. Do not over bake.

 

Maple Oatmeal Drops

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 egg
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 cup maple syrup (dark)
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup dairy sour cream
1 1/4 cups rolled oats (quick)

In a small bowl or mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, maple syrup and sour cream. Beat well. Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats. Drop by spoonful on greased pan. Bake at 375' 8 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar.  Makes 4 Dozen Cookies.
